Guest Country 2019: Japan
Japan was the guest country of the 8th edition of Transfiere. As such, the Japanese R&D&i ecosystem took part in the different activity areas of the Forum (networking, institutional agenda, oficial events in the Forum, conference programme, among others).
Japan is positioned at the forefront of different types of science, technology and Innovation. It has been recognized as one of the most innovative and competitive economies in the world for years now.
Additionally, thanks to the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement that was signed at the beggining of 2019, Spain has now countless opportunities to strengthen and promote comercial and financial relationships with Asia´s second most important market.
Why was Japan´s presence important for Transfiere?
Japan is the third biggest economy in the world.
Japan is the world´s third largest automobile manufacturing country. It has the largest electronic goods industry, and it is often ranked among the world´s most innovative countries leading several measures of global patent filing.
Japanese economic success was achived thanks to the cooperation between the japanese government and the industry, the hard work tradition and the mastering of the technology.
The economy of Japan is a highly developed free-market economy.
Its finance sector is currently growing fastly due to its currency. Yen is third world´s most trade currency only behind US dollar and euro.
Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement, the biggest comercial bilateral agreement negociated by the European Union, entered into force on 1 February 2019. Two weeks before Transfiere´s 8th edition was held.
