The University of Antwerp (UAntwerp) is a young, dynamic and forward-looking university that works to offer equal opportunities, continuous development and learning to its 23,202 students and 6974 employees. By collaborating with partners such as the City of Antwerp, the Port of Antwerp-Brussels, the Voka Chamber of Commerce and other key players, UAntwerp actively contributes to the development of its city and region.

Innovative research at the University of Antwerp is having a significant impact on society, positioning the university as a driving force for innovation. This role involves training its students well, addressing regional challenges in collaboration with partners in the innovation ecosystem.

Innovation at the university

Within the Antwerp Research, Innovation and Valorisation department there are two services dedicated to fostering Knowledge Valorisation: the Valorisation Office and the Business Unit ‘Valorisation and Development Antwerp’. The Valorisation Office focuses mainly on aspects such as advice on entrepreneurship, IP strategy and management, licensing and spin-off creation and management. Meanwhile, the AVD unit concentrates on activities such as promoting the growth of the ecosystem, building external partnerships and sustainable relationships at regional, national and international levels, and overseeing operations and collaborations within the innovation centres.
