Below are the three finalists selected by the jury to compete for the ‘Audience Award’ of the 10th ‘Foro Transfiere’ Journalism Award.

The Transfiere Journalism Award is presented as a tool to support Scientific, Technological and Innovative Communication, with the aim of recognising the work carried out by journalists to publicise the technological innovation developed in Spain and its convergence at international level.

Pedro Pablo García May (Agencia EFE)

“Disseminator of scientific and environmental information at Agencia EFE since 1988. In 2014, he was appointed deputy director of EFEVerde, where he created the radio programs Mangas Verdes and Átomos&Bits. Since 2023, he has held the position of section head for Environment and Science at the agency.”

“Journalist specializing in scientific communication. He has dedicated more than 23 years exclusively to scientific journalism. He currently presents and directs El
Cazador de Cerebros on RTVE, where he has completed 8 seasons, and hosts the Science section on A Vivir on Cadena Ser. He has contributed to media outlets such as El País, La Vanguardia, SINC, National Geographic, and Scientific American, and has given lectures throughout Latin America. He is the author of five books on scientific communication and worked at institutions such as MIT, NIH, and BID during the seven years he lived in the United States. In 2024, he received the CSIC-FBBVA award for Best Scientific Journalist, becoming the first professional to receive it by name after Materia and SINC.”

Elena Sanz Pérez de Guzmán (The Conversation)

“Scientific journalist with 20 years of experience, specializing in health and neuroscience. She has worked with media outlets such as MUY Interesante, El País, Papel supplement, Tercer Milenio, SINC, and la Sexta, among others. She was responsible for the digital edition and social media of MUY Interesante for three years. Her work has been recognized twice with the Prisma Award from the Casa de las Ciencias, twice with the Boehringer Award, and with the Madri+D Award for communication career. Since 2020, she has been part of The Conversation.”
