Silvia Martín Gutiérrez, Head of the Processes and Knowledge Management Department at CDTI_Innovación, together with Ricardo Alonso Maturana, Director of GNOSS, will present the evolution of BICCO, the Intelligent Content and Knowledge Search Engine, on March 12 at 4:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room 6. The CDTI BICCO solution, developed with GNOSS technology, is designed to facilitate knowledge management and access to information related to R&D projects, innovation grants and technological resources. The system is based on Semantic Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing technologies.

After the presentation of BICCO at Transfiere 2024, this year CDTI will share lessons learned during the implementation and use of the system, and will explain new features incorporated and BICCO evolution plans for the coming years.

As part of the BOOST-IN project (Funded by the European Commission under contract number: 101135239), this co-creation workshop will bring together key stakeholders in the Andalusian Region of Opportunity to identify barriers and opportunities for public engagement in water reuse for agriculture. The session will foster dialogue among farmers, consumers, retailers, water utilities, and policymakers to co-design strategies that enhance trust in reclaimed water. Participants will collaboratively explore innovative solutions, including early warning systems, disinfection treatments, and filtration technologies, to improve water circularity in the region.

The National Office for Science Advice (ONAC) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), in collaboration with the British Embassy in Madrid and the Government Office for Science of the United Kingdom, are organising a participatory workshop in Málaga, taking advantage of the organisation of the 14th Meeting Transfiere. This workshop is aimed at researchers and scientific managers with experience and interest in science advice, providing them with the opportunity to learn first-hand about the work of ONAC and the new science-for-policy ecosystem in the Government of Spain.

During the workshop, new mechanisms and instruments designed to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the scientific community and the Government of Spain will be presented. Additionally, we will have the special collaboration of the United Kingdom, one of the pioneering countries in the institutionalisation of governmental scientific advice, through the participation of its Government Chief Scientific Adviser, Angela McLean.

The main objective of this workshop is to identify priorities, share best practices, and address existing challenges, with the aim of developing protocols that further institutionalise science advice within the General State Administration.
