


Following the success in past editions, Transfiere 2023 has launched the III Open Call for Deep Tech Start-ups coordinated by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), EBAN and DayOne CaixaBank. National and international start-ups with deep tech projects have had the opportunity to increase their visibility to national and international investors who are experts in the sector.

Deadline and important dates
- Registration: before 9th January 2023 (inclusive)
- Pre-selection and communication to pre-selected startups: from 20th January 2023 onwards
- Pre-selection: the 10 pre-selected startups will be announced from 27th January 2023 onwards
- Presentation of the shortlisted startups: 16th February 2023
- Announcement of the winning startup and award ceremony: 17th February 2023
Selection criteria
The evaluation committee considered the following criteria for the pre-selection of candidates:
- Scalability
- Market’s viability
- Impact on society
- Filling of the fields in the form
- Suitability of the team
- Provable transfer of knowledge or collaboration with research centres or universities
- Being on a TRL 5 level or superior
Deep Tech
Deep Tech refers to technologies with high entry barriers that require a high level of scientific knowledge to be developed and a high investment to become products or services that can reach the global markets, with a large impact on society. The big challenges facing the Deep Tech start-ups are to cross the bridge between science and innovation and to decrease uncertainty about future returns on investments. The term Deep Tech encompasses both Deep Science and Digital Techs as main subgroups.
Start-up
Independent organisation, new or of young age, with a high growth potential, aiming to create, improve and expand a scalable, innovative, technology-based product, with a high and fast growth.
Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)
The Enterprise Europe Network is the world’s largest support network for SMEs and start-ups. The Network, supported by the EC, is active in more than 60 countries worldwide and brings together more than 600 member organisations. In Andalucia, the Network is coordinated by the Agency of Innovation and Development of Andalucia IDEA in cooperation with the Andalusian Knowledge Agency, the Confederation of Businesses of Andalucia y the Andalusian Council of Chambers.
EBAN
EBAN is the pan-European representative for the early-stage investor community gathering over 150 member organizations in more than 50 countries today. Established in 1999 by a group of pioneer angel networks in Europe with the collaboration of the European Commission and EURADA, EBAN represents a sector estimated to invest 11.4 billion Euros a year and playing a vital role in Europe’s future, notably in the funding of SMEs. EBAN fuels Europe’s growth through the creation of wealth and jobs.
