Transfiere will address the challenges of advanced biomedicine, precision health and prevention from public research
Transfiere, the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, will include strategic topics such as health and biomedical innovation in the programme of its Science Room, the space dedicated to scientific research and knowledge transfer, with the participation of leading institutions such as the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).
Science applied to advanced therapies, bioengineering, personalised health and ageing will make up one of the central pillars of the scientific discussion at this event, which will hold its fifteenth edition on 24, 25 and 26 February 2026 at FYCMA (Trade Fairs and Congress Centre of Málaga), run by Málaga City Council.

Málaga, 23 December 2025.– Transfiere, the European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, which will hold its fifteenth edition on 24, 25 and 26 February 2026 at FYCMA (Trade Fairs and Congress Centre of Málaga), run by Málaga City Council, will address the challenges of advanced biomedicine, precision health and prevention strategies from a public health perspective. These strategic topics form one of the main pillars of the scientific debate at the forum, in which leading institutions such as the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) will play a prominent role.
Science applied to advanced therapies, bioengineering, personalised health and ageing will be in the spotlight across several thematic panels, particularly through the programme of the Science Room, Transfiere's space dedicated to scientific research and knowledge transfer. In addition to the ISCIII, the URV–Eurecat Omics Sciences Centre (COS) will also take part in the forum, with a presentation by researcher Núria Canela Canela, head of the COS Technical Directorate. This scientific infrastructure is equipped with cutting-edge tools and technologies in the fields of metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and genomics—disciplines that study the different levels of biological information in an organism.
In addition, the programme includes a conference on the PERTE for Vanguard Health (PERTE Salud de Vanguardia), showcasing the progress of this initiative, co-led by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities—together with the Ministry of Health—as well as European priorities in advanced materials for health. Knowledge transfer will be another key aspect analysed in the Science Room, linked on the one hand to the Social Sciences and Humanities, as explained by the Director of Education and Training at the Cotec Foundation, Ainara Zubillaga del Río, and on the other hand to applications of Artificial Intelligence in public research and the productive sector, as outlined by the Director of the Technological Observatory of the University of Alicante, Alba Santa, and the Vice-President of the RedTransfer Association, Eva Martín Becerra. The Director of the Knowledge Transfer Office of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Javier Maira Vidal, will reflect on dual-use technologies, with both civil and military applications.
The programme will continue in Ágora, Transfiere's space focused on business, financing and innovation, where the role of technological consultancy as a driver of innovation will be highlighted. Participants will include the Secretary General for Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Teresa Riesgo Alcaide; the Director of Economic Policy and European Cohesion of the Basque Government, Juan Alberdi Alberdi; the Director General for Universities, Research and Innovation of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, José Antonio Castro Osma; the Policy and Project Officer at Eurada (European Association of Development Agencies), Jade M. Connolly; and the CEO of Zabala Innovation, Erik Zabala Veersteg. They will debate the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034 and its implications for territorial cohesion, innovation and the capacity of regions to mobilise European funds.
The programme also includes conferences on Spain's technological sovereignty, business talent, entrepreneurship at the territorial level, and the role of Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) in strategic areas such as defence, among other topics.
In the Innovation Room, dedicated to policies, strategies and instruments that drive large scale innovation, discussions will focus on good practices for creating strong consortia between companies, technology centres and public administrations, with a keynote presentation by the consultancy Ayming España, delivered by its Director of Grants and Public Sector Sales, Donia Razazi. The thematic panels will also include conferences on regional security and defence strategies and advances in quantum technologies, while the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) will use this stage to present its 2025 'Top 100' startups.
The agenda is rounded out by the Research Center programme, a forum devoted to applied innovation in which national and international success stories are analysed, along with key aspects of intellectual property, trademarks and patents. It also includes prototype presentations in strategic areas such as Green Tech; Smart Health; AI and Big Data (Artificial Intelligence and Big Data); Disruptive Technologies; Smart Tourism & Culture; Smart Learning; and Security and Dual Technologies.
European projects
Transfiere 2026 will serve as the framework for presenting several innovative European projects that promote sustainable and circular solutions across different sectors. Sollagua promotes nature-based solutions for water reuse in rural areas of south-west Europe and boosts the circular economy and water resilience in semi-arid environments. Ultfarms develops and tests integrated low-trophic-level aquaculture in offshore wind farms in the North and Baltic Seas. Circlemed and Verdeinmed foster the circular economy in the Mediterranean, through the implementation of territorial hubs and digital platforms, and through textile waste management, respectively. Dibest supports tourism microenterprises in the blue economy and social tourism by promoting sustainable and accessible activities in coastal regions, while Agrobotics-Ditwins drives agri-robotics, the integration of digital twins, automation and robotics in agriculture, with the aim of adopting efficient solutions for SMEs in southern Europe.
